Pop Up Stall
The Central Victoria ACF group held a pop up stall in August 2022 at Lake Weeroona in Bendigo. With members of the group, I assisted with putting together a banner which featured a pair of adult hands passing on planet Earth to a younger set of hands.
The purpose of the stall was to engage the public and ask about their thoughts on the banner, with the question, “What does this mean to you?”
I demonstrated by writing my own response to the question by writing my answer on a whiteboard and holding it up in front of the banner to take a photo. People were encouraged to upload their own image on social media with #StateoftheEnvironment, as the pop up stall was set up in response to the release of the State of the Environment Report.
Also at the pop up stall was some information about some of the local threatened species.
Forest Ecology & Climate Change
In December, 2022, The Castlemaine Branch hosted an event at the New Northern Arts Hotel, which Super Sound Group assisted with the AV.
ACF Media Advisor, Josh Meadows introduced Professor David Lindenmayer from The Australian National University who joined ACF via Zoom to discuss his research on forest ecology and climate change.
GBCC Summit
The Greater Bendigo Climate Summit was held in May 2023, where the ACF had a stall and Central Victoria ACF member, Ken McCaw joined a panel discussion on Regenerating Australia.
